A whole thread for an Inquirer link? C'mon. I could make a website and spew lies and people would take that as complete fact.

The inquirer- Inquiring minds wanna be fooled.....

that being said would be nice if they got off their rears and made some money, their stock is so cheap right now one could make a killing off them if they posted gains in the first quarter, with the incoming recession I dont really see that happening, I would wager that nvidia is not gonna make half the money-profit-this calender year as they did this last year so if you do own NV stock id get out of it before too long.

Hopefully the first revision is great and everything works out fine for AMD, because we need some competition and new graphics cards for games like Crysis.

I wouldn't get too excited, though. R600 was supposedly taped out in the summer of 2006 and only released in May 2007; it went through numerous revisions after the initial one. RV670 was clearly a different story and that launch went perfectly. If R700 goes perfectly, then hopefully we'll see products in Q2 as the Inquirer link suggests.

you think this new chip will be 55nm or something like 45nm then?

AMD has ATI firing on all cylinders at the moment

If it's coming out in Q2 and being taped out now, definately 55nm. R700 is labeled as 55nm on AMD's roadmaps as well.

Fudzilla said R700 was to be 45nm, but we all know how reliable they are.

It seems odd to me, though, that AMD only has R700 products included in its "Platforms" roadmap for 2009 platforms. If R700 was to be out in Q2-Q3 '08, surely AMD would advertise this fact.
