I bought an Asus r7 260x around a year ago. A few months later i started getting blocks of misdrawn pixels. I've tried basic things like new dvi cable and reseating the card. Any ideas?

Is it overclocked? If yes then did you reset to factory defaults?

Have you kept the inside of the pc case clean and dust free/cat hair free?

What date drivers are you using?

Not over locked. I've even underclocked it trying to stabilize it.

Yes, my pc is very clean.

Latest drivers, not at my computer so I don't know the release

Always keep latest drivers and original OEM drivers handy for cases like this.

Also make your desktop background blank/or a solid color. Trying to reduce the need to use video memory from the desktop image.

Some here may ask you to get a VIDEO driver cleaner just in case to truly wipe out older driver versions then reinstall your video driver.

If you use multiple monitors don't worry and just have concern for just one monitor for the time being.

Does the artifacts start right away even when your pc is cold or after the pc has been on for 10 minutes or longer?

Okay, I think I'm going to do a fresh install because windows 8 is being really weird. Gonna go back to 7. But it happens at random moments. Sometimes I can go hours without it happening. It doesn't even seem to be consistent with graphics strain.

Ok that is good to start. Also not every video card maker has qualified their card for windows 8.

While you get Windows 7 installed confirm the card works with windows 8.

A few video cards also demand to have the entire suite of .NET installed to work properly.

Okay, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks man.
