CookieMonster already posted this in the R600 details thread. Last page.

However, the retail version is only over 9 inches long. Of course it the only thing that interests me is the benchmarks. I won't buy it, I never buy high end. I always go for the Pro or XL versions.

With the OEM version being almost 3" longer, is it also going to be faster than the retail version?

Its only longer because the fan is on the end of the card, instead of directly on the sink. ( see here........http://www.overclockers.com/articles1411/ ) I think if the retail has DDR4 like the OEM version....they will be the same. OEM's just gonna use the longer card in their puters for support of the card. Or so i've heard

LOL, holy sh!t! I like those notches on the top of the card though. An almost definite sign that the crossfire connections will be internal. :)

Looks like you can maybe see where the retail versions fan will be in those OEM pics.

It might fall right around that groove in the plastic cover, right here

HSF/fan looks poorly implemented on the OEM part. Looks like 8" of PCB followed by 4.5" of fan. And whatsup with the handle? I just don't see the point of this implementation, I'm sure the retail version will have a normalized HSF similar to the 8800s to get the R600 to fit under 10".

It is not a handle, its a stablizing bracket/extension that was last seen with really large ISA or PCI cards for E-ATX and AT server motherboards.

Older-style ATX cases had a bracket, usually plastic, mounted below the 5.25" and 3.5" drive bays for that extension to slide down into when you seated the card. There is a spec that defines how far away it is from the rear expansion slot plates.

you can see one in this picture->

the purple piece below the HDD cages next to the front 80mm fan.

I'm not sure whether that picture is disgusting or beautiful. Certainly looks hard core though!

If anyone remembers the Dell OEM 7800GTX 512MB cards, they also had a huge bracket on the back for additional stability. This looks similar.
