R600 - Long, Hot & 300W

Aren't these the same guys who put out the 8800gts rumors that were false?

Hmm, not sure if they were false in the first place.

The only thing that credits these rumours from vr-zone is shamino and the other retuable OCers. But their G80 rumour simply came from those chinese slides. These guys just translated it.

This R600 rumour is probably from the same chinese site. I think the chinese site was called hardspell.

kinda silly to have a separate topic as there already is a r600 thread . . .
Wreckage just wants to talk dirty. 😛

Long, hot & 300watts baby..... It could be the new nerd pickup line. 😀

Yep, it plays faster, harder, and longer! (Isn't that ATI's slogan or something?)

Two? Pfff. A real man does Quad! 😉

Alternate frame rendering is what it's all about. 😛

Hell yeah! You don't wanna choke during the climax of the excitement! 😛

I think several people will be willing to upgrade to the long, hot and 300watt cards. It beats the short shriveled and always to the left ones we have now. 😛

With long cards, might be looking at some new cases. Or reduction of usable expansion ports, etc. etc.

Now that's a slogan! ATI should use it!

I hope the ATI cooling solution is quiet for once!!!! I can't stand X1800/X1900 series stock cooling (always buy an Accelero). The fact that they mention "4-heatpipe cooling" is encouraging - at least they realize they're going to update the cooling (significantly) for that kind of wattage.

ATI fixed their cooling problems already. I can barely hear my x1950xtx. Plus, I know this doesn't matter for most, but it looks like a beast in my computer. 😎

An extremely reliable but fictional source tells me the 300 w part is FUD

So it's going to be 400W

It's going to come with its own PSU and cost $800.

What is wrong with split frame rendering?

Edit: Doh.. For a second I thought it's "Spread", not "Split".
