Take it with a grain of salt as some of the info comes from the Inq.

If they have to do a re-spin of the design and if Hexus.net is correct about a "preview launch" that would mean it could be April until actual cards are for sale.

"This re-spin will supposedly delay the card's release by a couple of weeks, leading to a launch in early March?likely a week before the CeBIT show, which is taking place in Hanover, Germany from March 9 to March 15"

"The March time frame coincides with a date given by DailyTech a month and a half ago. The site said the R600 would enter production in February and launch in March"

April??

ATI has already sent out its sample to all its partners even MSI , ASUS ect... its come out next early next month. Its manufacturing should start this month so i don't see how it will be released in April. If then even respin it then it only takes a 2 weeks to redesign and test. It will should come out late feb if ATI really don't want to screw up but tha April is totally out the question as Nvidia will launch 8900GTX and even 8600GT.

Then evidently you're not reading the articles by Dailytech, Hexus, and now this latest report from TechReport.

CJ from B3D boards (who has a credible rep.) said he's hearing Q2, as well, from Taiwan.

I wouldn't be surprised anymore with March / April based on everything I'm hearing.

I'm still hoping for Feb., though. That would be the perfect time as it's when I buy my new system.

Let's see, should I go with the first quote or the second quote below. ...Hmmm... Let's just go with the first quote.

LMAO

Do either of you have a problem with the Tech Report? I would say they are easily one of the most respected tech sites.

If you don't like the news, fine. But you don't have to be immature about it. Although I may be overstating your ages a bit.

Wow, ATI's really dropping the ball on this one. And don't call me a fanboy, because I've been waiting to see ATI's response and NVIDIA's counter. This kind of competition only drives the need to make faster and faster graphics card for cheaper, enabling more and more people to play upcoming games like Crysis at respectable settings. This can only be a plus, at least in my book. ;)

Yea, because a website we've never even heard of before with a single article and the rest filled with google ads is just as credible as Tech Report, whose information also correlates with that from two other credible sites, as well.

I would hardly call the Inquirer a "credible site". And don't forget, DailyTech also confirmed that the R600 specs posted on the Level 505 match what they have as well. So at least SOME of the Level 505 information is accurate. We just need an independent set of benchmarks to emerge to see if the rest holds up as well.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the R600 be delayed until Q2, though. ATI has been getting pretty regular about pushing release dates back. :|

I'll probably do the same thing I did when I was looking for an upgrade last round. Buy an nVidia card (or two) and enjoy what improvements it brings to my gaming. ATi can dance in their pants as long as they want to, if they don't get a product out they don't get my money. Simple as that.

As long as nVidia doesn't delay a good G80 driver as long as ATi is delaying their R600, I'll be good.

As if those specs are right.. :p

4-way SIMD channels my arse :disgust:

If you make an estimation of the fillrate with these specs you'll get a nice mainstream output not what R600 is supposed to be..
So if Dailytech has confirmed that spec then I can surely say they are talking BS..

So at least SOME of the Level 505 information is accurate.

That is a more accurate description of the reality.. But as I said making such a huge mistake I'd say they just speculate

The point is the info came from the Inquirer and certain people around here use that website when it suits their agenda but ignore it when it doesn't

The point is that level505 said two versions;one in Jan. and one in March. Dailytech said that was similiar to their info, except that the Jan. version (GDDR3) was canceled, thus indicating by Dailytech that March would be a tentative launch date. Hexus also mentioned the Cebit timeframe in their last-round of R600 news.

So it's not as if we're solely basing this off of theINQ's FUD.

And since Tech Report doesn't quote every single INQ article, it should say something when they do - perhaps that their hearing similiar info that lines up with whatever BS theINQ spouts.

It matches info from Hexus.net and Dailytech.

The Inquirer's claims also match Tech-Report's and XBit's about G80 not being PCIe compliant. Can I assume you also accept these claims then?
