Browsing the news today I found some tidbits on the inquirer on the next generation of graphics cards. Anybody got anything else? And don't remind me that the inquirer is unreliable, anything we have now is likely to be speculation.

R520 "fudo"

G80

What does "fudo" mean anyway?

Edit: Opinions welcome as well :)

G80 all the way lol. Lmao you cant tell anything now. All those things are just speculation. "omg G80 will have 200 pipes!!!!" "OMG R520 will be super 733t because it will have 1.5ghz on the core and 1gb of ram!!" Just wait and when we get official specs bump this thread ok.

I know one thing for certain, once they are announced they will be available in about six months thereafter (if we are lucky :)).

Okay then, what does Celeron mean?

Radeon? Xeon?

c'mon. Words in this industry mean about as much as release dates.

Good question. And what does pentium mean? And Radeon? probably just cool sounding words that are hard to spell :disgust:

Since I'm a bit of a fan boy, I'd really like it if ATi ends up doing a better job. However, nVidia pwned them at pretty much everything this round aside from the X800XL, so I have no idea who really will do good.

Celeron is probably supposed to sound like "acceleration" to make people who buy pre-built Dell computers think that it's fast.

Heh, after getting my 6600gt, i'm kinda hoping that nvidia pulls ahead, as they are MUCH larger and prolly have more money to make better stuff. Plus, Nvidia stated that they would soon be pulling away from ATI and being alot better than them...until ATI releases their new card after that lol.....

'However, nVidia pwned them at pretty much everything this round aside from the X800XL' WTF? Ati's x850 consistently has better performance numbers than the comparative 6800ultra, why say Nv is better? SM3? currently it is not visually better than SM2, all it does is supposedly make it run 'faster' and yet ati still win many of the higher end benchmarks. sure, ill conceed that the 6600 series was a winner for Nv. only time will tell i guess.
