"As the card maker doesn't wish to reveal the R520 performance yet, but we can confirm that R520 at 24pp or 32pp will not be lower than that of the GeForce 7800GTX. Even though the 32pp and 24pp R520 mass production will face some difficulties, but the 16 pipelines R520 using the 90nm core will be clocked high to maintain a certain level of competitiveness."

wow how can they just go to say, powercolor, and say "hey can i have that ES card?" and powercolor replied "sure, just make sure we're under NDA"

OT: nice rig VIAN 🙂

i've actually heard they are doing a hard launch just like Nvidia....for all of their products except there might be a little low supply of the XT clocked at 600...

It wouldn't shock me if there are HD displays out there now that can supprt the signal. My plasma only lists up to 1080p/30 in the manual yet it runs fine all the way up to at least 2048x1536@60hz, that is the max of my current videocards so I can only guess that it might go higher with a card that can push it.

Yes, a plasma might be able to do 20x15, but theres 33% more pixels in 25x16.

And isnt the 30" Apple like $4k?

That's alright, these new ATI cards will be going for about $4k on ebay due to supply "issues" so you can have a matched pair for only $8k. What a deal!

nah... they've had a long time to get the kinks worked out and I'd expect they will crank these out. Yields should be good.

25% more with the actual resolutions, but lopping of the last two digits of each number does make it look like more. 😉

Regardless, my point was that I didn't even know my screen supported 2048x1536@60hz until I tried it and it might take higher as well but both my cards top out there so I can't try it.

*yawn*

Please ATI, for the love of God, ship the effing card!!!

Please, this entire forum needs to move on and find something new to talk about.

Nice system soccerman.

3.3GHZ A64 = teh r0ck0rz 🙂

BTW, what voltage are you running that VX at cause that is one insane OC!

Not sure on voltage. The rig is over 300 miles away from me right now, Im off at college, and I wont be back until Thanksgiving. I wont spend any money (seeing how all my money goes to  ) on dry ice, so turning it on would be a nono. Maybe Christmas time Ill turn it on, if theres a R520 to play with.

Not sure how that is possible since most plasmas interpolate. I doubt the TV is really doing 2048X1536. Probably accepting that input and then scales it down.
