Hey everyone,

I am having some difficulties getting my internal Broadcom minipci wireless card to work in my computer. I have a R3000Z laptop which when I purchased it, did not get the optional wireless add-on. I just recently purchased a minipci Broadcom wireless adapter that was made for the R3000 and installed it. I loaded all the appropriate drivers, but I cannot get it to detect any wireless networks. I believe the problem is that I dont have the button on the front palmrest to turn on the wireless transmit power. Does anyone know if there is a way around that? I am running WinXP Pro. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

Woah, that was a fast reply. Anyways, I am broadcasting the SSID. I have another laptop that has no problems detecting the network. Also, I installed the Broadcom Wireless Utility and it shows that the radio is disabled. However, there is no option within the utility that allows me to enable it.

Got it working! I decided to take apart the laptop to see if by any chance there was a button to turn on the radio within the chasis... and guess what... there it was! I figured that HP wouldn't manufacture 2 different laptops just because someone didn't want the wireless option. In this situation, the button was there, but was just inaccesible from the outside because HP used a solid bezel instead of a bezel with the button on it. Anyways, thanks for the suggestions.
