I NEED to use one of these CDROMs [CD-RW Disc] to make a Copy of "Recovery WINPE ISO" for my EaseUS Todo Program, before I create a Clone of my HD w OS on it - in case my W10 Install "bricks" my system.
NOT knowing, I figured that I probably need to Format one of these new discs prior to copying this ISO on to it..........I have now tried formatting 2 of them and they end up telling me "cannot complete format".
I am guessing now that I don't need to format them at all....PLEASE advise me!
Also - as I said - I tried to format 2 of these w/o success....do I have to throw them out now? Can I somehow still use them?

As u can tell I am a neophyte, even after many years, at doing this kind of thing on my 'puter.....had never really paid attention to what was on that little "screen" that pops up that you use to check off you want it to Format....so I'm looking at it this time and knowing that my W7 uses a NTFS File System, I'm thinking that's what would be used to Format my CDROM......but it says: File System: UDF 2.01 [Default]; Unit Size: 2048 bytes. I was wondering IF I screwed something up there?

Thanks, michael:\

Only reason to "format" a CD-R/RW, is to use it for "packet writing" - essentially treating it like a R/W USB stick.

ISO images are complete disc images, that need to be "burned" to the disc, all in one shot. Not "copied" (as a simple data file.)

You can use ImgBurn ( www.imgburn.com ) to write ISO files to disc in Windows.
