Ultima Online - I used to "grief" quite a bit.

Back when they split up Trammel and Felucca, i'd hang out in Trammel Dungeon Deceit. Alot of players would be down at the very bottom level of the dungeon killing Lich Lords. Sometimes a silver serpent would show up, which would own you with poison so everyone would run away. I'd hide behind the door and close it anytime a player tried to open the door, so they'd die. If I could wait 7 minutes their corpse would turn to bones and I could loot 'em. I'd also sneak up and get the last hit on a lich lord so I could get the loot.

So you were one of the douches who made that game shitty. Congrats.

As for the OP, no and all the prepubescent fucks like you should be banned. Although, the mute option is a wonderful thing when it comes to mic spam.

When you have nothing better to do with your time other then ruin other peoples fun, you really need to examine your pathetic existance.

Uh, okay. Breathe. Relax, take it easy. Repeat after me:

It's
a
GAME.

I may have came off as very angry which I'm not really... Just pointing out my disdain for douche bags. I don't give a shit if it's a just a game. People who do things just to ruin others fun are very childish and have some issues. Do you go and run across a field and steal a football from an on going game? How about yelling or playing loud music constantly while playing a poker game? It is just a GAME after all...

doing said things will probably get your ass beat and your money rightfully taken.

A friend and I invented griefing back in counterstrike beta days I believe.

Countless hours and days of pissing people off, getting banned over and over. It was great. Now in l4d I will do it sometimes but I usually play normal now.

Thats cool that everyone tries to be like us now.

Never understood the appeal. I'd rather just frustrate players because im better than them rather than doing something to intentionally ruin their fun. Sounds like something who aren't legitimately good at anything to ruin the fun for other people

I've done a few times before playing QuakeWorld Team Fortress where I'd be a Spy and drop the poison grenades (dunno what they're called, they made the screen colors all fucked up) all over my team's base. But it got old kinda quickly.

That was probably 10 years ago when I was 16. Now I think griefing is fucking stupid, and people who habitually do it have some anti-social problems or something. Just not normal.

He 'invented' griefing. You should be prepared to be griefed.

Bragging about griefing is like a 30-year-old who keeps talking about his high school athletic career. If you only had one accomplishment in life, you have to keep the memory alive.

"Woo, I am a griefer! Ph3ar me! <Wait, Mom, just a couple more minutes, then I'll take out the garbage.> I RUAN UR FUN! U R PWNED!"

No, I typically do not. I only grief if my team is being stupid. (i.e. dying or fucking up all my master plans)

I think it's funny sometimes and not funny other times. It depends on how you grief. Team killing is not really funny, but some of the things people do with the mic is funny. I myself never engage in the griefing though.

Well I am the creator of griefing... so anyone who griefs after that is trying to be like me... duh.
