and there are some really creative ones out there..
i can say ive had as much or more fun playing qwith a greifer or greifing as playing the game as it is intende.

Sure... in the original Quake Team Fortress. Find TK server, play demoman, stand in respawn door and launch nailbombs and grenades into room. Play spy and knife sniper teammates, dump lsd grenades into respawn. Damn that was a long time ago.
 
Ultima Online - I used to "grief" quite a bit.

Back when they split up Trammel and Felucca, i'd hang out in Trammel Dungeon Deceit. Alot of players would be down at the very bottom level of the dungeon killing Lich Lords. Sometimes a silver serpent would show up, which would own you with poison so everyone would run away. I'd hide behind the door and close it anytime a player tried to open the door, so they'd die. If I could wait 7 minutes their corpse would turn to bones and I could loot 'em. I'd also sneak up and get the last hit on a lich lord so I could get the loot.

Do I find annoying people claiming to be nazis or pedophiles and spewing crap about what they like to do in their basement hilarious? No. In fact, that's why I am glad there is a kick feature in L4D.

In Tf2 stand in a front of an enemy sniper at all times.

In BF2 sit and in a vehicle and do nothing.

In street fighter 4 try to use as much time as possible for a match.
 
i used to be a griefer in wow because it's a brainless game that requires no skill other than the time you put into it, and the only fun thing to do in the game.

I had a L60 mage w/ and my starting point would be in gadgetzan. i would find idle horde players then open up a portal, massive dps to gank them then teleport to a different city.

i hate griefers in any real type of game, like getting team killed in war3, its such a waste of time =\
