R-Type Final (PS2 Game)

Anybody got this game yet?

I got it 2 days ago and could not stay away from it. OMFG! It's like side-scroller heaven! This game is HUGE (for an arcade shooter). It's got 99 different planes!!! You start with 3 but new ones kept on getting *unlocked* (keep playing and you'll get them).

It single-handedly beat every single side-scrolling shooting game I have played to date (and I've played alot).

Here's a short list: Tyrian, 1945, Raiden, Raptor, Solaris, Mobile Light Force, Gradius, Aero Fighters

But the one killer side-scrolling shooter I haven't played is Ikaruga since it is only available on the Gamecube and Arcade. I don't want to buy Gamecube because of one game.

I have gotten 56 of the 99 so far. Could not have done it without the invincibiliy cheat code though, it would simply take too much of my time. 🙂

I just saw it on the release chart at EB games today, I'm going to pick it up as soon as I have some free time.

The R-Type I played at the arcade during the 90s was class, still think it was one of the best games I have played.
