damn that sucks.

i meet him at Ramstein AB Germany during Desert Shield. I was standing in line at a chow tent and he was in line as well with some officers. some how he hitched a ride on a C-5 from the states to Ramstein then to Saudi. the guy had connections...

Damn :( My favorite author of the genre. I've read all his fiction stories...many more than once.

I knew him when we lived in the same MD town just after Red October became a hit.

This hurts because both of age and he was a heck of a nice guy.
