R.I.P Spec, you were an incredible man

Rest in peace my great-uncle.

You are one of the primary reasons I am the man I am today. You taught me how to weld when I was but 10 years old. You taught me how to handle a rifle before that and I still have the 1950 winchester long rifle you and I would pick off snakes at 150 yards trying to invade your marlin bird houses.

Most importanly you and I built a go cart from the ground up with bare steel at age 11 and instilled in me my love for driving even though I shoulda been dead when I went into the barb wire fence but somehow was lucky enough to hit a post instead of being torn to bits.

rest in peace Spec, who holds many patents and could make anything as long as it was metal. You had a long wonderful life and I hope I can be the kind of man that you were.

Felt I had to do something, he was such a good man.

Sounds like my kind of guy.

Very sorry to hear that. 🙁

yeah, he was a cool old fart and I'm not sad.

He was just such a man. A good man and if in someway my posting this recognizes just how good he was then so be it.

If you ever see tire companies using a device to cut old tires on a wheel mouting machine....that is him. He was able to produce something costing a few hundred bucks that replaced a 20K machine.

how old was he? Sounds like the cause was natural?

Of course it was - he was 92.

as I get older these things happen. cycle of life.

I just felt that others should know of his greatness. I'm not posting for me, I'm posting for him.

There was a thread earlier about leaving your legacy. This man has left his legacy, protected his country, possibly saved some landfills thru his inventions and has the love of dozens of people. i call that a pretty darn good legacy.

Sorry for your loss Spidey. May Spec Rest in Peace. In remembering him, he is never really gone. Routed to a better network so to speak..

Old age hath yet his honour and his toil;
Death closes all: but something ere the end,
Some work of noble note, may yet be done,
Not unbecoming men that strove with Gods.
The lights begin to twinkle from the rocks:
The long day wanes: the slow moon climbs: the deep
Moans round with many voices. Come, my friends,
'Tis not too late to seek a newer world.
Push off, and sitting well in order smite
The sounding furrows; for my purpose holds
To sail beyond the sunset, and the baths
Of all the western stars, until I die.
