On Tuesday my dad (73 years of age) past away due to complications after surgery. His death came as a shock to us all (5 children and his wife) to say the least. While he was no pillar of health, he was more or less doing fine recovering from the surgery (technically speaking he aspirated).
While I was not particularly as close to my father as my siblings, I feel horrific for my mother who had been married to him, through thick and thin (there were lots of both), for 52 years. On top of that, my mother also lost her mother just this past Christmas morning. To say she has had a rough month is an understatement.
For those inclined, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She's a tough cookie, but she will need all the help she can get.
