My friend's uncle, who also knows me, obtained a MAJOR position at a local cable/communication/utility company. He recently informed my friend about a new position, and probably had me in mind.
So I sent him this email:
There's not much time, so I'm whipping up a "quickie" résumé; though it might not be a good idea to do rush something like this. While I'm working on it myself, why don't you guys look it over and give me some suggestions? I must hurry. Let the criticism flow freely...
Go wild!
Thanks, guys.
So I sent him this email:
Your nephew, [---], has suggested that I should contact you regarding an employment opportunity within the Network Operations Center. Would you prefer that I submit a résumé through email, or should I schedule an interview appointment?
Thank you,

[Me],
You can email your resume to me. The ad came out in the newspaper this past Friday. Interviews are starting tomorrow. Please forward the resume to me and I'll get it to HR to get you set up for an interview with the NOC Supervisor.
Thanks,
