QX6700 temp

I have a qx6700 with an evga 680i ti board with stock cooling and air cooling i have the multiplier set at 11 and my temps are 60-65c with just running the basic xp os no other software installed or running. is this ok i don't want to mod the mobo or add a backplate and watercooling isnt an option....

The Quad cores are excessively hot chips, I personally didnt think stock cooling was adequate at stock speeds, so I would suggest using default clocks until you can get a new heatsink.

A quad core chip at 2.66 gigahertz is definitely not going to be a slacker.

Equivalent to like 4-4GHz Pentium 4s

i have 1 word to say

Thats your old thread.

Thanks for not listening to a single word i said in that thread YOU started originally.

I gave you all the advice you could possibly need. Albet i was a bit mean to you, but i knew this would be the EXACT result.

Do yourself a favor, and read over your old thread. I gave you some suggestions, and why certain coolers wont work.

Sorry if i sound a little mean, but i totally predicted this coming on that link above. And poof! here it is... 😀

BTW op, i think i saw you on evga forums. Your having problems after bios flash. Did you remember to reset your cmos prior flash? You should never flash your bios on overclocked settings. Thats very very bad to do. If you forgot, reset your cmos, and reflash it. Sometimes that helps.

The stock cooler is very poor, you should replace it ASAP if you want lower temps. Try 4x Prime95 to find out what your load temps are. By the looks of it, you'll be at 90C or so which is way too much. I would also say your heatsink might not be on properly hence slightly higher temps, but I doubt this (always worth checking however).
