50 bucks a month they say, I'm okay with extra fees that amount to a few dollars more.
modem is a hundred bucks, they give me the option to buy it with 3 seperate payments of about 30 bucks a month, rounded up until the modem is paid off.
they tell me the first bill is going to be over a hundred bucks, like $117.xx
my first bill ends up being $8x.xx, so I'm like, hmm ok
several times my modem keeps resetting. I try nearly everything anybody could think of. and the agents keep telling me to do all this stupid first-time user garbage, I'm like am I that stupid? it's a damn dysfunctional modem that can't keep it's power on, and my house has no fault with it's electrical layout, but one of the techs are like, "these are new 2wire modems, they cannot be defective.. (I'm like.. whatever)."
my modem is crapped, the tech agents assure me the equipment is not defective, I'm like... omg, they have no idea. a service agent comes over to find the modem is defective, so he replaces the modem on the spot and then things are okay, they still don't give me my name and password for use with the stupid modem/router, agent just calls and types in the information without giving it to me (for later convienance, hello?). um, whatever, it works.
my name is spelled wrong, I'm like, wtf, so I gotta call in again and correct it so I can pay the bill on time without any delays.
so they put up the first bill with the 30 dollar charge for the wireless 2wire modem including a few bucks for fees, and of course the 50 dollar charge for DSL service. 2nd bill, it's 60 bucks total, what the freak? 3rd bill, okay, now it's like 76 bucks? the agents keep giving me different prices and then I go online to pay the bill, and they end up differently. this 3rd cycle, the website explains very-very little of what I am being charged.
DSL - 36.xx
DSL w/MSN premium - 36.xx
what the bloody hell is that?
most of the techs are terrible... they try to convince me that everything is going to be okay. you need to call them like 15 times to actually find one of them to really help you out. one of them tried to convince me that power shortages would stop if I replugged the phone wire into to walljack without the DSL filter, I'm like wtf is that going to do? reset the signals only, not the power, obviously.
also, they told my sister service was not offered in her area, Brooklyn Park, which is only a few miles away from the Twin Cities, has over 30K population. how do you not have service in an area like that?
"SPIRIT OF SERVICE" -keyword: on occasion, or not at all, or after you phone them 20 times?
p.s. my grammar sucks, only had like less than an hour of sleep.
