I've been relatively happy with Charter HSI for the past 2 years, but they were the only option for me. Just this week Qwest DSL announced that DSL is available to my house now. I currently have 3/256 cable right now for $44.95 and I read on dslreports.com that I can get 5/512 for $54.95.
Qwest is offering 5/896 DSL for $29.99 ($34.99 if you don't have a phone package...which I don't) for the first 12 months with free modem rental and $54.99 after the first year. There is also a 1.5/896 option for $24.99/mo for the first 12 months.
The reason DSL is attractive is because of the high upload limit. I host ut2k4 and quake3 games for friends and after 6 people connect to my 256kbps line pings start to skyrocket. But I've been reading reviews on dslreports.com about qwest using interleaving which causing high latency which causes pings to be close to 70ms for the first hop.
I was wondering if there were any gamers out there that have/had qwest dsl and if your pings were decent?
Another nice thing about qwest is that they do not block port 80 so I can have a webserver to display stats.
