Qurstions about Slot 1 --> FCPGA Adapters

I want to upgrade my Abit BH6 Board with a new CPU. Thus I need a SLOT1 --> FCPGA Adapter.
There are adapters with voltage & fsb settings. Do I need such adapters? I mean the BH6 supports Coppermine Voltages and also FSB settings like 100MHz,112MHz,...

With other words: Will my MB settings (like FSB, Voltage) directly get to the FCPGA CPU or will they be ignored (maybe because of the adapter).

I just ask, because I want to overclock my (maybe) new Celeron with FSB Speed like 112MHz and / or 124MHz. THus I should need Voltage regulation too!
My last question: If my MB shouldn't support exactly 1,5V but only down to 1,65 V? Will in this case the CPU use that setting? ;-)

THanks

If you leave the default settings on the Slotket, the settings from the motherboard BIOS will be used.

If you manually set voltages on the slotket, these will override motherboard settings.

Purchase a brand name slotket like Iwill or ASUS.

The only thing that the slotket can override is voltage (if you decide to set it). There is no effect on FSB.

can't overemphasise the importance of the above statement to avoid problems!

MarcoP, I'm a BH6 user, currently w/ a BH6 rev1.02, iPIII-650 FC-PGA and an Abit SlotketIII. If you go the slotket route do as others said, and get a good, name-brand one, such as Abit, Asus, IWill, or MSI. There are still some older PPGA-only units out there, so make sure it's compatible w/ FC-PGA, and not just PPGA. They're getting tougher to find, so don't wait too long.

Another thing to consider, albeit it's more $$, is the Powerleap PL-iP3/T, with either a CeleronII or a PIII. The PL-iP3/T adapter w/Intel Celeron 1.2GHz (Tualatin) is currently $169, while the PL-iP3/T w/ an 850 PIII is $199. Powerleap also has slower speed Celerons, but for the slight savings in $$ you give up the Celeron/Tualatin's extras, such as 256k L2 cache (vs 128K L2 on the slower C's).
