Quotes of very long posts

I know that sometimes people make useful long posts (posting an article from a website which requires login, or posting a list etc), but when people proceed to requote the OP lots of times in a thread, it's just totally pointless and idiotic.
I'm not sure how you could fix it from the forum end, but maybe vacations for being stupid would help? It's like any old neffing, but 10 times as pointless and stupid, and irritating for others.

Nesting quotes is so annoying. It is lazy and inconsiderate. Especially when someone only adds one word to a huge post or eleven previous quotes. It only takes a minute to snip.

That would be sweet if they had something with quotes like they do with Newegg reviews. You click on something that says "more" or "read more" and it displays the rest of the quote.

About 99.9 percent of Off Topic would be gone. AT would be a better place, and people could focus their attention on the original purpose of AT - to help people with computers and hardware. Unfortunately most people live only in OT and don't contribute anything to the rest of the forums, only soaking up valuable bandwidth and making OT more addicting.
