Quotes in signatures should be considered callouts

Pretty straight-forward. I don't understand why this is allowed. It's basically trolling or a callout the vast majority of the time, and by allowing it you guys are basically saying, "You're allowed to publicly troll or call out people so long as it's not done within the content of a post." Banning this unless it's it's done for nice reasons should be common sense.

If someone quotes you in their sig and you would rather they not, you can ask that it be removed. Please use Moderator Discussions for that.

Sig'ing people has been a thing on this forum since before I joined - say something stupid, get put in a sig. Personally, I'd like to see a toggle button to show/hide sigs, so we don't have to suffer through somebody's hardware specs every time they post.

Go to User Control Panel --> Edit Options --> Thread Display Options (it's part way down).

Then uncheck "Show Signatures" and they will magically disappear from your life! :awe:

Well, the nerdy PC spec ones help when you are asking a nerdy PC spec specific question. Just saying.

I don't think sig quotes are a problem, and I don't see how they are a callout. I think a lot of them are pretty funny, actually, and I'd probably have one if I could fit it in. You post something silly or smack talk, everything you say can be used against you... so to speak. Lighten up.

Linux is like the Honey Badger, Linux don't care.
