The thing is the ultrabook segment where ARM chips would be well-positioned is actually getting good parts from Intel right now. Tiger Lake will probably show up in a lot of attractive machines this year. And AMD is starting to close in on this area, too.
The ipad-notebook still seems like the best fit for these chips. I feel like "iPadOS" exists for this reason.
But it's hard to see the upside of making this transition right now. It would have been a great move in 2017.
