so my work got pissed at me last saturday because i had to suddenly take a few days off to attend my grandmothers funeral this wednesday. i was pretty pissed at them for having no respect about my situation and would have quit on the spot but I had an 8 hour drive ahead of me and didn't really care to deal with it then.

anyway, i'm scheduled to work today but i'd rather not deal with them anymore after that incident. should i quit over the phone or in person? i'm thinking of just showing up sans uniform and handing in a resignation letter, give them my crap and leave.

You should give them some notice. Never good to burn bridges. May also want to talk it out with them, being out of work is not fun.

Depends on what kind of work you're in. If it's retail, then it's no big deal to just tell them you're done. Of course, some would say it's NEVER good to burn a bridge, no matter how good it feels at the time. The problem with retail, however, is that they're likely to speak ill of you just because you quit, regardless of how professional you are handling it.

If you think you can get a decent reference from them, then handle it with care. Give two weeks and that's that. If you think they'll stab you in the back no matter what you do, then just call them and say they can take you off the schedule permanently and that you quit.

Fvck them, they don?t give you two weeks notice when you get let go. Why should you? If you don?t plan on going back ever, go in wearing shorts and sandals, knock over some sh!t and fart a couple times in your boss?s office and tell him to fvck off.

Applebee's. They'll just have to find someone to cover my morning shifts the next couple of days anyway. And then I'm going back to Wake Forest on the 23rd and I'm off everday after sunday.

I don't give a crap about them. I'm not going to be working for them again anyway.

If they don't give two weeks, then they pay you for two weeks. Also, getting fired is advantageous because you can draw unemployment.

Yeah, if it's just Applebee's then don't worry about it. Call them and tell them you quit. Tell them why, tell them to fsck their moms, whatever.
