Quit a band I was in for four years and the rest of the guys were upset. They didn't pull their weight or practice on their own. What else did they expect?

Well, it is sort of like breaking up with a girlfriend...except there is no "don't leave me" sex.

I'm sorry, holmes. Been there, done that. It's hard when you invest that much time and effort into getting to know your fellow musicians; bonds are easily built as you learn and grow with each other's play styles, etc.

Cheer up, though. That's what alcohol is for!

A few years ago we were doing pretty good. Opened up for Ludo and Eve 6 and almost opened up for a few other larger acts -- but the guys couldn't promote or keep the fire going.

Tough shit, being in a band.

Cool! Did you swallow your pride when it came to leaving the band without burning bridges? Or did you just choak on the rind and tell them off? Sometimes it can be like putting your heart in a blender.

Well, they are good guys. So, I let them down with a spin on "its not you, its me".

I plan on probably still doing something with the drummer, though. He was a new guy in our band last November, and he loves playing.

I see what you did there :whiste:
