quitest ps: Enermax "whisper", quietpc's ultraquiet, or pcp&c's silencer? :)

Well, according to their sites:

quietpc = 26dba
pcp&C silencer 275 = 34dba
enermax 330W = ?

I hear the quietpc ps is pricey, and international shipping 🙁

So it's probably between the PCPowerandCooling and the Enermax..

I'd go with the Enermax. The whisper version has a "sleep mode" to power down the fans if they're not needed. Pham Computer has the "whisper" version for $60.

PCP&C aren't exactly cheap either, my 275w cost about 100 bucks.

I say go with a enermax they give you the most bang for the buck. Then replace the fans with something quieter, enermax also has 2 fans. Also enermax are very high quality PS, dunno about quiet PC..PCP&C are also high quality but of course you pay big for it.

I got my quietPC 300W PSU and socket-A cooler today. Took them 2 business days to process my order and 2 days to ship to Vancouver, Canada.

I know it's very expensive, but it's definitely worth it. If I turn on my hard drives unplugged, I can't even tell if my computer is on or not. It boots up in SILENCE.

Also, believe it or not, the quietPC cooler is MORE EFFICIENT than the AMD retail fan that I used temporarily. My Duron 800 operates at 45°C and is cooled with a virtually SILENT fan.

Unfortunately, they had the SilentDrive out of stock. As soon as they get them in, I'm ordering those. All I hear from the computer now are my 2 hard drives.

I strongly recommend you to save up some money and order a PSU + CPU fan(s) + SilentDrive. You'll be a happy man like me.

P.S. It's lovely to use a Duron in silence. 🙂

I'm using the Enermax 350W from Compucheap. This PS rocks, it has 2 fans and is whisper quiet. Also, my system is fully loaded, including a GeForce and SCSI, the enermax provides plenty of power.

I just bought the Enemax 451 from Compucheap about three weeks ago - this thing is amazingly quiet and pumps out a fair amount of air to keep things running.

i'd recommend the antec power sources. they have the smart power fans that will vary fan speed and therefore noise according to usage. and they are a lot cheaper. i use them in all my computers. sorry, i don't have a link...

$37.99 for an Antec PP303X(300W) versus $44 for an Enermax at PC Club isn't really that much cheaper, and the Enermax is a much, much better Power supply.

That being said, if you're strapped for Cash, an Antec unit can be fairly quiet, and is fairly low-cost.

Don't knock the Antec, they have really high quality stuffs, but really, Enermax is top quality stuff as well.
The Enermax fans are really silent.
I love my 350 😀
