Quite or Silent Hard Drive

I have 2 Seagate Barracuda 7200 RPM 32MB Cache, they are the loudest thing in my system.

One is a 320 and the other is a 1 TB. I just finished my water cooling case and it's quite, but the hard drives are the loudest thing in the case. Is there any way to keep them quite and fit into this case?

I want to keep the sound down, they don't vibrate, you hear them when they are running or downloading, when they are spinning it can be a bit on the loud side. I don't mind spending money to get them quite, but I'm not spending 80 bucks on this for each drive

I wanted to get more info on these, or is anyone know a good way to keep them quite and still able to fit in my case. I have them in the default spot in the case the second pull out rack with a S flex e with sound gasket in the front to cool it near silent.

Any input would be great

Do you have them in the lower bay or in the middle harddrive bay? Mine are in the lower bay, and even my older WD 120gb HD is almost inaudible. My samsung 500gb is deadquiet hehe, but it's known for it's quietness. The lower bay is the best place anyways, they'll stay the coolest in there.

The Samsung drives are will known for their quietude. Aren't the HDDs in that case isolated with silicone bushings? Most people can easily tolerate the normal operating sounds of recent HDDs, how is it that yours are so loud or are you just obsessing over it? Try spacing them differently so their sounds don't reinforce one another.

Anyway, there are lots of different HDD isolation methods discussed around the web if the silicone bushings in your case really are inadequate. Some are the bungee cord or heavy shoelace methods. I have the cable clamps used for those - click on the link in my sig below.
