Quit Smoking? Taking Zyban/Wellbutrin? Post your side effects here.

It began with way Zyban affected my sleep. During the first week I would wake up at all hours paranoid out of my head like when I was a young kid who was scared of the monster under the bed. Once the drug initially kicked in (after about a week) I felt light headed and incoherent for a few days. Also I had these almost uncontrollable sexual urges for about the first 2 1/2 weeks. However, it seems that at four weeks in, I have lost almost all of my sexual desire. It's not erectile dysfunction; I verified this on my own terms. It's just more like a loss of interest, even with different partners. Is this normal? At first I did some research and found people posting both similar and contradicting experiences.
Since this has happened, I've decided to quit taking the Zyban and hope this most recent side effect goes away. I should have known better than to mess with anything that changes a person?s brain chemistry. From now on I'll just deal with any future cravings head on and without a crutch...

Some folks have strong side effects to Wellbutrin/Zyban.
But, most have no trouble or side effects if they start out slowly on it.
Try taking a quarter of the does and then work up slowly.
It really helped me quit smoking, something which is really really bad for you.

The stuff has lots of side effects, I had the insomnia & also had the feeling of ants crawling on my scalp.

I was sleeping maybe 1-2 hours/night.

I've seen a couple of folks have seizures while on it, it lowers your seizure threshold...

After 1.5 weeks I broke out in hives, so I had to quit. The other effects didn't bother me, the dreams were cool!

It gave me a body buzz that was interesting for the first few days, but I quickly got tired of it. I still have a month or two worth of Zyban pills left... I guess I should throw them out.

I'd give a more detailed description, but I was just about to duck out for a smoke.

My daughter was arrested and thrown in jail for welbutrin. its a controled substance in Utah. Freakin punk ass cops in this county. And she was trying to quit smoking, but she got the welbutrin from her sister and couldn't produce a perscription.

Judge through it out of court. I still think the arresting officer was a jive ass punk! Without his badge and gun, I 'ld kick his scrawny ass. And he knows it now. I confronted him about it. One of my best friends is the Sheriff. He is ordered to keep away from my family. For his and my protection.
