Quirky perfomance with UT and W2K

When playing UT on my system below I sometimes experience som hickups lasting about 5 secs or so (annoying). Could this be caused by a lack of ram?

Just after booting up I have about 55megs free of physichal ram.

BTW: My account has just been corrupted after a power failure. All my desktop settings are lost

I have a similar setup (see below) and UT doesn't run as smoothly for me on W2K as it does in WME.

I like to run in 1024x768x32. The game just runs much smoother in WME. I would like some information to optimize my drivers and UT settings to offer the best performance at high quality settings ...

I can't see what amount of ram you have in your system from your sig. What amount of ram do you have?

I have 128MB. I want at least 256 ... but have to wait until income tax time to get it, or else the spousal unit (wife) will not be happy.
