Quirky Outlook XP problem (comcast)

I have it set to auto check mail every minute. To do this the password must be "remembered", therefore i keep the "remember password" box checked. This works fine most of the time, however, about every 15 minutes, it prompts me for my usr/pw, but they are already there, so all i have to do is hit ok and it works. this gets really annoying having to do this 4 times and hour 24 hours a day. how can i prevent this from asking me for my password? it obviously is saved because i will check no problem for 15 mins, then just occasionally ask me?

sometimes they put limits on how often you can check mail, and deny you every now and then

also, sometimes if they mail server is busy it may not go through

in either case, all outlook can do is assume your password failed, which is why it prompted you

i would say crank it up to check every couple of minutes instead of just 1 minute and see if it goes away

thats what i was thinkin... if i bump it up to 5 mins will that help? anyone else? thanks sohcrates

i changed it to 5 mins, and the problem happens less often. this leads me to believe it is a problem w/ what happens when checking the mail FAILS. is there a way to change this to auto retry?
