Quieting case fans...

having trouble hearing the difference...it all sounds like crap 😀

what kind of fan do you have? u might just be stuck with some POS fans

Thermaltake XTunner... I don't see how a fan controller could be a 'POS' it just limits the amount of voltage to the fans.

I don't want to spend any extra money, no one has expirienced this?

so you have more than 1 fan....localize the source of the whine (by sticking your ear up to them i guess)

if its the coolermaster...which i think it might be...then u know u have a POS fan

hmmm....it does indeed seem unlikely that the controller could be the problem...but u never know. it might be delivering an unstable DC current

ive never heard of NMBs...so i personally wouldnt have bought those

i'd go with something well known, like the panoflo L1As which are excellent and quiet...i use 4 in my case

but it looks like you already purchased them....oh well 🙁

for future reference i suppose, here's a link:

NMB's are good fans, I wouldn't have recommended them if they weren?t. I've never directly compared them to a Panaflow but they seem to have very similar noise levels. You don't see them in retail very often but lots big OEM's use them; I've seen them in Dell workstations and desktops.
