Hello,

I am looking for the most quite heatsink and fan combo. The one everyone loves. I will be using an AMD Althon 4000+ socket 939.

So far I am looking at ZALMAN CNPS7000B-ALCU 92mm 2 Ball Cooling Fan

but I also see Thermaltake CL-P0114 120mm CPU Cooler with Heatsink, which appears to be more quite. The dba is lower. But odly enough sometime even though the dba is lower than another it is still high squiling loud.

let me know

Big Typhoon. I used it on my x2-4800+ for 2 years. It was the quietest part of my rig even at 100%. You will NOT be disappointed with that HS/fan and kept my 4800+ oced at a cool 27c at idle.

You can used the included Fanmate (fan control) to get the Zalman down to near silence while keeping a 4000+ cool at stock speed. Unless you're overclocking there's no need to spend more.

This is my setup:

Antec NSK 4400 Black/Silver 0.8mm cold-rolled steel construction ATX Mini Tower

Foxconn 6150K8MA-8EKRS Socket 939 NVIDIA GeForce 6150 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail

A-DATA 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200)

AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego 2.4GHz Socket 939 Processor Model ADA4000DKA5CF - OEM

Will that Thermaltake CL-P0114 120mm CPU Cooler with Heatsink Big Typhoon[/] Fit in my setup?

I am thinking about getting a case with a 120mm fan in the psu and switching it out for a quiter 120mm. any recommendations?

The PSU in my NSK-4400 has been extremely quiet even during the summer with no AC, I'd try it as-is before going to the effort and cost of swapping fans.

Thermaltake dBA ratings are not to be trusted.

The Zalman 7000 is very quiet when you reduce the voltage supplied to the fan or use BIOS (or SpeedFan) fan controls to dynamically control the speed of the fan in relation to CPU temp.
