Quietest non-OC rig, advice

I haven't made it yet, but I'm looking at setting up a athlon 1-1.33 (no OC), with a IBM or Maxtor 7200 RPM drive, and some kind of GeForce card..MX or 2 GTS or something. I'm looking at cooling options right now.

Here's my ideas so far...

case: antec sx830
ps: enermax whisper
case fans: papst 80mm 19 cfm @ 12 dba (2 in 2 out)
hsf: taisol cgk742092 ??

I'm really not sure if this setup is (1) the quietest possible, and (2) moves enough air to keep cool.

Let me know what you think of this setup, especially the HSF. I need to find a quiet one.

I'm willing to spend some money on cooler/quiter equipment, but i don't want to break the bank.

also, any ideas on how to reduce the sound from the hard drive?

edit: changed case from 1030 to 830

Aphla 6035 w/16dba adda
22.5dba adda 80mm, papst are too expensive
or the 21dBa Panaflo
Get an fanless MX
Maxtor - use amset to set up drive in quiet seek mode
The case is fine
The Enermax whisper series really isn't as quiet as people say. Its quieter than most but it all depends on what your standards are. You will definately hear the power supply over all of the above. If you're really serious about noise, buy a single fan power supply and replace the fan.

Don't bother about the fan. I have 4 fans in my system: 2 80mm, 1 CPU, 1 HD fan. Either one of my HD is louder than all the fans combined. (7200 rpm and 10,000 rpm).

I've been trying to reduce the sound from the harddrive, but no luck so far. It does get annoying at night.

BTW,
I'm using Antec's SX830 and the P303X power supply.

Tonec, what did you mean by a fanless MX?

and any suggestions on a single fan PS?

How much difference in performance does Maxtor's quiet seek mode make, and how much quieter is it?

Thanks for the suggestions so far.

To my knowledge, all mx cards use fanless heatsinks or none at all. Many gts cards use a hsf that tends to get a bit noisy after prolonged use.

Most newer hard drives today are fairly quiet. The maxtor diamondmax plus 60 is quiet out of the box and the quiet mode reduces the grinding seek noises. When people complain about hd noise, its usually the constant "whining" that often occurs to older drives. IMHO, quiet->loud Fujitsu/Maxtor/IBM/Seagate.

Quantum >>>AS<<< drives are the quietest i've seen...i can't hear it over my taisol's stock fan which is pretty quiet.
