Quietest noise ever

prove it
I can't, and I don't believe it myself. His post just made me think of Berkeley... the world keeps on existing because God is always perceiving everything. Or something.

EDIT:

There was a young man who said "God
Must think it exceedingly odd
If he finds that this tree
Continues to be
When there's no one about in the Quad."

"Dear Sir, your astonishment's odd;
I am always about in the Quad
And that's why this tree
Will continue to be
Since observed by Yours faithfully, God."

Well, considering there is no such thing as God, no one has heard the noise, hence it is quiet.
So if a half-deaf man hears a sound, is it only as loud as it sounds to him? What if a half-deaf man and a normal man hear the same sound? How loud is it then? The tree produces the same sound waves either way. I don't think you can judge how loud something is by how or whether it's perceived.
