Quietest/Coolest Running 1TB HDD

Edit: Just noticed that you want to place it in an iMac. I "guess" that the below drives can be used but since I don't have experience, I'll leave that one to be answered by someone else.

Most likely the Samsung Green 1TB or the WD Green 1TB drives. Both run 5,400 RPM but have high density platters (WD 1TB Green drives come in two flavors - 3 density platters and 4 mid density platters. YMMV on the version you get. The 4 platter is slower and uses more power (slightly)).

Those two drives are said to be extremely quiet, cool and have "decent" (not outstanding) speed. Good luck.
