Is it possible for me to quiet down the retail Intel HSF? If i run it at 7v, do you thing it will push enough air to stop the lockups??? If not, I need a SilentHSF. My case is just way too loud. I wanted a silent one, and this is holding me back. Any ideas? I also have a 60mm fan right behind it and the enermax whisper PSU fan right above it also.

If your running a Coppermine CPU it should be pretty easy cause you can get away with low cfm fan due that intel cumine chips produce very little heat. Id recommend an Alpha PEP66T, or Taisol CGK 760 or 742. Both heatsinks a quite large, but need to be cause of the lack of airflow, replace the stock fan that come with these units with a 60mm fan that produces around 25dB (16cfm). With that setup you should be wel within safe temps but running very quietly
