Great Forum!

This is my first post, so be gentle. I'm looking to replace my noisy 60mm CPU fan for my Athlon 1.4GHz. I'm not sure what heatsink is on it, but it won't accept anything larger than a 60mm fan. Are there any minimum CFM ratings I should follow? Should I look into getting a fan adaptor? Thanks for your help!

SVC G68. It's a complete heatsink and fan package. It's quiet, efficent, and cheap. It's 60mm base should fit any motherboard. However, I would suggest paying a dollar more for it from case-mod since I have much better experience with them than SVC. Many people here would recommend SVC, but you do a little research at resellerratings before deciding. Hmm, it seems like they raised their resellerratings, but when I ordered from them they horribly screwed up the order and it took them 3 weeks to fix it.

Hah, I always hear that about SVC. They shipped me a whole box of stuff, I took my computer apart, THEN realized they didn't include the GC68. So I called them up, and said they forgot to include it, and they sent me another one 2day because I said my customer was mad. Then a week later, I got another GC68 in the mail... I don't know why. What a bunch of screw ups.

Thanks for your responses! I was sort of hoping to avoid replacing the entire heatsink/fan (because it seems easier to just replace the fan). Are there any good articles or guides for removing the heatsink from my chip and replacing a new one? Sorry, I'm new.
