Hi, I want a PCI-express video card that is passively cooled or can be modified to be passively cooled. I don't need anything crazy fast, just something reasonable and that provides a good value. Can I get some recommendations on which cards can be modified to accept the Zalman VGA heatpipe or something similar? As for stock cards, I am looking at:
the nVidia 5300, which seems weak for direct 9 and expensive for what it provides.
the nVidia 6200, which is active but seems like it could be modded to passive, or maybe a passive verison will come out soon
the nVidia 6200 TC, which is kinda fast on Doom, and has purevideo and stuff, but I hate the idea of shared RAM.
ATI X300, which I haven't researched at all. I don't know much about ATI, but I would like to stick with nVidia if possible for sentimental reasons and driver (FreeBSD, Linux) support.
