I'm thinking about doing this is 6-8 months, so this is purely academic right now...

SFF case, with a mobile processor of some kind...likely Celeron or Sempron (if they ever become available)

As much passively cooled heatsinks, PSUs, etc as possible (thermaltake makes a couple). The idea is to have 1 fan max. Its got to be really quiet, and energy efficent.

Top of the line sound card, and the cheapest VIVO card I can get (hopefully passively cooled or integrated).

Is this possible or am I missing something?

Already been done by Shuttle:

Shuttle Zen

Uses ATI RS300 chipset and any P4/Celeron you would like to use. A single fan cools the entire system.... Shuttle got around the whiny 40mm PSU fan by using a power brick. Only downside--no AGP slot. :-/

But yes, there are a lot of people interested in small, quiet computers. You could probably do a lot with one of the AOpen or DFI Pentium-M motherboards....
