Quiet retail CPU coolers

I am a frugal user who has to decide whether to go with the fan that comes with the CPU or to get a special quiet fan for my future Phenom II X3 or X4 CPU. I do not plan to play games and to over clock and therefore will not put a high heat load on the fan. Can someone advise?

start with stock.

if you can't handle the noise, go aftermarket. OCZ Vendetta 2 is probably best price/performance right now for $25-$30.

ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 64. They occasionally go on sale, if that's important.

Not exotic but will get the job done most times.
