I need a quiet power supply for a amd system. It must be at least 350 watt. Does anyone have any experiences with the entermax whisper series?? The reason i am posting this is because when I went to buy this power supply at directron.com the customer comments said that it is not that quiet. I have heard 2 different opinions on this power supply and thought that the people in this forum would be honest abouve all. thanks for any help. mark

I have the Enermax 431 watt PSU and can't hear it at all over the hum of the other 12 fans in my system.

Same here. The Enermax Whisper series is quite nice. Efficient and quite. Good Luck!

I would go with an Antec Power supply.
As their 3 and 5V rails are much better than Enermax.

from AMD site

<< The following power supplies are recommended for their capability to supply appropriate power on both the +5-VDC and +3.3-VDC power rails. >>

I just put an Enermax Whisper 300W in my P3 866 box. It replaced a 'Sparkle' power supply, which was advertised as being quiet, but in reality was not.

As far as noise levels go, it is very quiet. I have to listen closely to hear it running. The only other fan in the system is an Intel retail CPU fan, which is also pretty quiet.
