quiet power supply recommendation

Ideally looking for ~450W psu in the, hopefully, $60 range.

I wish power supplies listed fan speed on their sales listings, but alas they don't.

My system, I have a fanless cpu heatsink, then paired with a 500rpm 120mm fan. I have a fanless video card, then paired with a 500rpm 60mm fan.

I could use a little better psu for the new video card I want to use (also fanless), and with the psu now the loudest component in my computer (which admittedly is very quiet as it is) I'd like to see if I can go quieter.


There are some fanless power supplies, but expensive. I'd like a step down from that, paired with a very slow fan. But looking at product listings, you don't know what's what.

Seasonic S12II 430B $60

Seasonic's PSUs are generally pretty quiet, and the user reviews say this unit is too, for what that's worth. But if your existing PSU is already quiet and you want something even quieter, I suppose you'll just have to accept the fact that you're a silence freak and buy a product targeted at silence freaks 😛

I became a silence freak ever since being the dumbass who bought a 7200rpm thermaltake orb 😛 It really is a joyous thing each time I get the volume level down a little further!
