Quiet power supply for older sonota

Sure it is. The Seasonic s12 430W is selling for $100 @ the egg although I read somewhere that the 500W was on sale for $100 forget the site though. 🙁
Sure you could google it though.

The 430W version was the "quietest" psu, of recent, tested by SPCR if I remember correctly. SPCR, if you are familiar with them, are sticklers for silent computing. Its a good step above Antec IMO.

i find that the stock powersupply is pretty quiet already. are you replacing because of you need more power or because you think it's loud? if it is loud, you can replace the stock fan with something quieter, which is much more cheaper.

The stock PSU is fairly quiet, but ther are quieter ones out there.
Also, I find that mines runs pretty hot meaning that it probably won't last as long as it should.

So, another vote for the Seasonic.

Mine runs pretty hot also - didn't used to. Getting an x800xt pe just heated it up more. So do you guys think an artic cooler or the new zalman hsf would be quieter in the long run on the x800. I can't decide, the zalman seems quieter and cooler, but the artic cooler vents out the case.
