Ok guys, right now I have a Dragon Orb 3 and I hate this pos. Its way to loud and high pitched and its giving me headaches and it doesn't do that great of a job. I'm looking for a quieter alternative.

Any suggestions?

Well, everyone has their personal favorites on this one. Mine is the Thermalright SLK-800 heat sink with an 80mm Thermaltake adjustable RPM fan. This system is a little pricy but:

Excellent three socket tab clip on the heat sink (don't have to worry about motherboard compatibility with the four hole mounting method)
I run the fan for "normal" computing around 3000 RPM with a CPU temp of 42c AND also eliminated three case fans on my Antec case (system is now nice and quiet).

You can always turn up the RPM's on the fan and get the CPU down into the upper 30's c (full load) if you are gaming.

I am using three of these combos on my systems and very happy with them (Two XP2000+ and one 1.33 T-Bird).

Of course use Artic Silver Three also.

Good luck. I'm sure a lot of other people will give their experiences also.

First, what is your processor?
Most likely, a Thermalright SK7 or SLK-800 would be good for you. The thermaltake adjustable fan mentioned in the previous post is not that quiet of a fan.
A panaflo L1A or other low speed fan should be fine if you are not overclocking and have reasonable case temps.

Yes, excellent point. I was sacrificing total quiet with a little versatility, but the panaflow is a quieter fan. Make sure you get one with the headers (correct me if I am wrong, but don't you usually have to order those separately with the panaflows?).

Another point to mention is that some users prefer the four hole heat sink mounts if they are going to move their PC's often (lan parties).
