Quiet Fans...

Anyone know of some nice and quiet fans to help cool my case. My old ones are just too loud for me to think.

the two top choices are
panaflo
H1A's semi loud move decent amount of air
M1A's quieter than the H1A's but a little harder to find at times
L1A's the most silent but dont move a ton of air


then you got PAPST......about the best youll ever get so silence..bar none !

however ive found a very good compromise in the new cooler master neon LED fans useing the rifle bearing setup........about inaudible (at least o me when compaired to my antec true power 550..which is silent) and they move nearly the same amount of air the panaflo H1A's do !

Panaflo's as VisableAssassin suggested, Vantec Stealth's, Papst's, Adda. Or you could get some fans that are a little louder, and hook them up to a Rheobus 😀

Does Pabst make a 60mm fan that would work as a replacement for the stock fan on an AMD Athlon XP heatsink? If so, which one would work best, with the objective being to quiet the system?

Any 60mm fan that moves enough air for a modern day CPU will be loud. You can get a reduction in noise, but don't expect much difference. Small fans will make a high pitch whine, you can't really get away from that with 60mm. And a slow-speed 60mm might make your CPU temp go way up.

Where do you guys shop for case cooling? I usually go with newEgg but their fans are all OEM and come with no connectors.

I also found some Thermaltakes that adjust speed depending on the temperature, but didn't know if they were worth it.

Take a look at www.silentpcreview.com for a LOT of information on this subject. They even have a chart stating fans DB and CFM at different voltages, very useful!

5v or 7 volt mod them, although you won't get as much cooling power
