Quiet, effective fan for Alpha P3125 on a P3 700 OC'd to 933 or higher?

I'm hopeing that with a really efficient HeatSink, I can mount a couple of quiet 60mm fans to cool the OC'd P3 700 to 933 or above. With the 2 80mm L1A's in my Enlight 7237 and the L1A I'm planning on putting in the power supply I want it to run as quiet as possible. It will be on 24/7 in my bedroom running as my server.

Also, anyone know how well the P3125 fits onto an Abit BX6r2 MB?

Chris

I used to run a P3125 on an Abit BE6 and a BE6-2, which are very similar in layout to the BX6-2. It will fit no problem but you MAY lose at one memory slot. If you already have all 3 slots full you might have to take one out.

The cooler itself is AWESOME, even with crap case cooling it kept my 600E @ 800 running at 35C max load.

To answer your question I used 24cfm Sunon fans. They are pretty quiet but there are two of them so they will always be a bit louder than single fan coolers.

Wow! Your Fan Site is an awesome resource! That's a lot of information. I soaked up quite a bit while browsing through it. I am curious as to why no one mentions the Adda AD0612MB-A70GL since it is a ball bearing model that's rated at 18cfm (just .7cfm less than the Sanyo) and it's 4db quieter. Are they hard to come by? Maybe way over priced?

Chris

No.. For some reason, I don't think they put out as much as the other fans, although they are rated close to the Sanyo's. At least that's what I found. I was going to go with a Adda, but was convinced otherwise if I wanted to OC at all.

When you're already down to 18.7cfm, does .7cfm really make that much difference? I do plan on overclocking a P3 700 to 933 or better so is it possible that I've got too little cfm already?

I really do want this thing to be as quiet as possible while still getting as much speed as I can sqeeze out of it.

Chris

If you are interested in ADDA fans, take a look at Phamcomputer.

I used the high output 60mm ADDA fans for awhile on my Alpha P3125 with a 700E o/c to 1.08 GHz. Now I use 80mm Papst fans with an adapter.
