Quiet DVD-ROM drive

I have just bought a Pioneer 115 16X drive and it's unbearably noisy. I'm now planning to exchange that for a Toshiba drive. The Toshiba 16X is only about $10 more expensive than the 12X. Which one should I get? Is the 12X significantly quieter than the 16X?
 
I bought the slot loading Pioneer 16x awhile back and found it to be way too noisy. The Toshiba SD-M1402 (12X) was incredibly quiet compared to the Pioneer. I'm not sure how the 12X and 16X Toshiba's compare, though. Probably worth trying the 16X, just make the store you buy it from has a good return policy in case you find it too loud.

I just received my Toshiba 16x/40x yesterday and it's incredible! It's quiet, fast, and reads everything I put in it.
