Quiet Cooler for E6750?

Plan to build a system around an E6750. I want a quiet machine so was looking at either the Zalman CNPS9700 or the Scythe Ninja [with a 120mm fan].
How would these perform and could I overclock with them?

They are to go into a machine with a passively cooled 8600GT as well.
That brings my other concern as I was planning to put them into an Antec Sonata 3 but wonder if the restricted airflow in this quiet case would make things too hot?

Nah, with either coolers you'll have plenty of leeway to overclock, and things shouldn't run to hot, unless ambient temps are 30c and up ...

The E6750 is a cool running CPU, plus the G0 stepping has improved on the already excellent power usage of the original C2Ds. A Ninja (even the new one with the less than ideal mounting system) should have little problem cooling a E6750 passively. In a previous system, I was able to run an E6600 at 3GHz with a Ninja Rev. A passively.

And as you can see here in this link, the E6750 is cooler running than the E6600.

Coincidentally, I recently built a new system based on the E6750, Sonata 3 but with a Ultra-120 Extreme paired with a 1200rpm fan. I'm now running at 3.6GHz/1.475v and have considerably thermal headroom left. The Sonata 3 won't be a problem at all.

Many thanks.
Could you please tell me if you fitted the 2nd 120mm fan behind the hdd cage and if you did the presumably the gfx fits okay?

Of the 2 I was leaning towards the Zalman but maybe I will just get the Ninja and run it without the fan for starters...

I don't use the fan, but from pictures that I've seen even with the 120mm fan attached, you can fit a video card up to a 8800 GTS. Without the fan, you can fit the 8800 GTX (I just installed it today into my Sonata 3).

excellent. In that case I probably will fit an extra 120mm panaflo I have lying around
