Quiet CDrom

For quietness Lite-ons are definitely not good. They are some of the noisiest you can get. Plextors are fairly quiet as are some of the Samsung and LG burners. Other than that I have no useful input.

I would agree with the Plextors, but my new Lite-On 48X burner is much quieter than my old Lite-On 12X burner.

my lite-on 52x24x52 is really loud at the highest reads. really louds reads also
 
Yea the 32x lite-on I use now is loud... looking to replace with a very quiet model.
Anyone seen any links on this subject?
 
i got a samsung that was on clearance at my local wal-mart... if you're not happy with it, you could always return it
