Quiet case fan?

Many say the nexus is the quietest 120mm. I found one that claimed to be 13db where the nexus is 22db. What can you tell me?

i think there was a fan that did 13db, but it didnt turn much air. and no way coolermaster can do 13db, their fans tend to be sort of loud.

check out compusa for their mad dog whisper fans. $4.99 this week only. made by yate loon. which are same as nexus. search mad dog in the spcr forum and you will find threads about this fan.

Coolermaster does have a couple of "quiet" and "really quiet" lines of 120mm fans. I've played with both. The 13-14db fans are absolutely whisper quiet, but they barely push any air whatsoever. If you just mount the fan and then do not plug in the power connector, you will get the cooling power and silence as these fans. Their 19db fans are a bit more useful and I consider them pretty quiet. I put them side-by side with some 14db SilenX fans and I could feel more air being pushed by the SilenXs.

I have the Papst 120mm fan (2 of them, in fact) mentioned in the SPCR thread mentioned above. It's a good compromise between airflow and noise, IMO.
